Reports into our newsroom say several roads in the area are blocked off, and there is also a large law enforcement presence in the Foxborough neighborhood.
Michael Chaplin was jailed for grand larceny and burglary, and Matthew Chaplin was in jail for possession of meth, credit card theft and possession of a stolen vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
They abandoned their vehicle near the 203 mile marker of Frontage Road, and ran off into the woods near Wannamaker Park.
Baker said the escaped inmates led deputies on a auto chase through the Sangaree area Saturday afternoon.
It all began after escaped inmates Donald Ray Little Jr., Michael Bryan Chaplin and Matthew Daniel Chaplin were spotted in a stolen grey Ford F-150 in the Sangaree area of Berkeley County around 1:43 p.m.
Berkeley County Sheriffs Maj. The search included helicopters, K-9 units and multiple agencies.
Two brothers who escaped from a Dorchester County jail Friday were captured at a Goose Creek home Sunday night while a third inmate remains on the run, Berkeley County Sheriff’s deputies said.
Baker said that all residents in the surrounding areas should stay indoors, and nearby Charleston Southern University was put on lockdown.
Knight said the jail is old and overcrowded and its surveillance cameras are limited by blind spots where guards can’t monitor prisoners’ activity.

The three men escaped by breaking a metal table support bar from a table used for writing and then using it to pry out their second-story cell window. According to police, Little is about 6 feet tall and 165 pounds. He was convicted in 2014 of making meth and sentenced to prison and probation, according to court records. He has brown hair and is 6 feet, 170 pounds. He was in jail for two charges of grand larceny and 4 charges of burglary.
