He said the behaviour of the ANC caucus was the reason it was in second place in the council. “Be humble, this is why you came number two, because you refuse to be humble”.
“The people of Tshwane are saying they are tired of corruption, they are tired of nepotism, they are tired of cronyism, they are tired of EPWP works that are only given to certain members of certain families and their friends”.
“I want to say to our people, we will speed up the formalising of services in informal settlements … we are saying all those who have been waiting for their title deeds, your title deeds are indeed on the way”.
Gauteng North Deputy Judge President Aubrey Ledwaba is expected to preside over the swearing in of a new speaker and mayor.
“I’m going to request to humbly, please behave and allow the executive mayor to proceed”.
“I’m not in the business of purging people”. “We will give the city a new look and feel”, he said. We will ensure that we are open for business so that we can start attracting investors to be able to start creating employment for our people. “No more will you suffer again”.
“It has been an hounor and privilege to serve the citizens of the capital city as their city manager for the past five years. We will be retaining some skills but we will also ensure that people get to sign performance agreements”.
