Bear throws rock, shatters glass barrier at zoo in Minnesota | FOX6Now.com
Out of the eight bears studied, the six born in captivity at WSU were quick to complete the task, while the two brought in from the wild struggled more.

A brown bear at the Minnesota Zoo smashed a large rock against the glass in its enclosure, shattering the glass Monday. The glass however, did not break as it is a five-layer pane, and that allowed it to stay in place after the rock was slammed into it. He added that nothing like this has happened since the orphaned bears arrived at the zoo from Alaska in 2008.
Thankfully, no one was harmed by the bear, since the glass pane had five layers and held together “like a windshield”, according to Tony Fisher, the zoo’s animal collections manager. According to Fisher, he “loves to play” and “he wrestles with the other male out there quite a bit”. “We thought we had all the rocks out of their exhibit but one of them dug it up somewhere”.
‘He didn’t know what he was doing. “
He was just being a bear”, {

The zoo won’t reopen the exhibit until they install the replacement that they have ordered.
He told the Star Tribune that the bear “picked up from the bottom of the pool a rock that had to weigh 50 pounds”.
“We’ll probably install another barrier in front of that glass panel… that is bear proof”.

While the glass wall is being fixed though, Kenai and his bear friends have been removed from the open-air exhibit.
