Bearded Prince Harry surprises delighted students with a visit to military school

The royal, who was last spotted watching rugby alongside brother William and sister-in-law Kate, made an appearance yesterday at the Duke of York’s Royal Military School to show his support for military families and encourage kids to join the force.

Apparently the students at the school were unaware someone special would be visiting but had no idea it would be a person of such great importance.

Once inside, he inspected the ceremonial parade and presented medals to five of the schoolchildren at the boarding school, which has a rich military history. “Oh my God”, said one teenage girl who hugged others as they jumped up and down.

“I didn’t believe it, I was so shocked”, said 14-year-old Megan Davidson, a drummer with the school’s military band.

Prince Harry, dressed in his Blues and Royals uniform and peaked cap, was also given a private tour of the school’s chapel and met with staff and sixth formers.

“The army’s not for you? Let’s talk about it”.

The duo were barely able to control themselves as the redheaded royal left students delighted when he turned up in his full military uniform.

“He was saying, take your time, review all your options, then wait to decide what you will do”.
