The Bears will receive a sixth-round draft pick in the deal, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Bostic was a second round pick (50th overall) by the Bears in 2013 after an impressive career at Florida.

The Chicago Bears traded way two high-profile defensive players Monday who apparently don’t fit the scheme of new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.

Chicago Bears linebacker Jonathan Bostic (52) drops back into pass coverage during the first half of a preseason NFL football game against the Miami Dolphins Thursday, August 13, 2015, in Chicago. Bostic made an immediate impact as a rookie when he started nine games at middle linebacker.

Bostic hasn’t been able to get on the field this year for the Bears with various injuries and he leaves the Bears after never really fitting in at any position.

The 24-year-old Bostic’s contract expires after this season. In the offseason, he said a reported back problem was a result of alignment issues from his feet as he’s flat-footed.

Fantasy Impact: This was a bit of a surprising move but with Dion Lewis and James White playing well in the third down back role for the Patriots there was no room for Cadet.

The new Bears regime was prepared to half with Bostic due to his damage points.

“Trying to pick up everything on special teams and defense in a couple of days is definitely tough, so the bye week, it will definitely help out”, Bostic said. Allen, a five-time Pro Bowler, has slowed down but still managed 5.5 sacks last season, while Bostic was the team’s leading tackler in 2014.
