Gators DT Jonathan Bullard, projected by some as a potential late first-round pick, went in the third round to the Bears at No. 72 overall. Having been responsible for much of the rushing workload during his time in college, Howard was ready to take his talents to the next level and is expected to be a productive member of the Bears’ offense.
“I’ve snapped the ball a little bit, not a whole lot, ” he said.
“There’s just some things about him that jump out. we talk about versatility”, Pace said.
“Bullard, a 6-3, 285-pounder with 33 5/8” arms, comes to the Bears following a third-team All-American nod at Florida last season, when he had 17.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks among his 66 tackles. But for Floyd to get on the field a good football player in either Lamarr Houston, Willie Young or Pernell McPhee will have to sit down.

I don’t think the second round played out exactly as the Bears had hoped, but it wasn’t a bad end result.

With Matt Forte no longer in the Bears’ backfield, Chicago needed to add depth at the running back position in this draft and they did just that by getting nice value out of Howard. “I know what I’m capable of doing”.
