Bears rookie WR White to miss at least six games

White’s great speed and Jeffery’s athleticism are sorely missed. While it is only one game against inferior competition, Meredith fared well Thursday night. “It’s how it goes”.

“It gives other guys opportunities”, Fox said. We’re comfortable with Marquess over there. We’ve got enough to work with. If I come back and am able to play a little bit [this] season, we’ll do it if I’m feeling OK. Pace said that several NFL players have had this, including current Bears returner Marc Mariani, who suffered a leg injury in 2012. “Our whole focus is his long-term health”. The act of keeping him out of training camp practices (and keeping us all guessing and wondering) was part of the ramp-up process, Pace indicated.

“We don’t anticipate that”, Pace said.

On Friday, White was optimistic that he was ready to return to practice.

“I just got pain in that spot again”, White said. “I’m not ignorant about the situation”. To me, hey, it’s unfortunate, but there’s clarity in this is the surgery that he needs to have.

As for Cutler, the development involving White isn’t likely to impact his draft status significantly. Mariani once had a similar surgery.

“Kevin will remain on PUP”, Pace said. “When we found that, it’s like sometimes these things heal on their own”.

Cutler and Royal had an obvious rapport back then, and if they are able to reprise it, then Royal could be an extremely valuable fantasy commodity in 2015, especially when it comes to point-per-reception leagues. We’re progressing. We’re good. He suffered a setback early this week while doing some light running and the decision was made to have a rod inserted into his tibia to stabilize his leg.

In particular, the Bears looked efficient going no-huddle on third downs to keep the defense off balance. He’s going to be a heck of a football player.

“Probably the most hard thing I’ve had to do in a little while”, White told reporters.

The Bears could essentially pull the plug on White’s rookie season, giving him a full year to get healthy, stronger, and better equipped to understand the offense. The quarterback position is so stacked from a fantasy perspective that he was nothing more than a backup option previously, and that remains true now.

Perry wound up with 89 yards and would have led all rushers even without his 54-yard run. It’s Pace’s and head coach John Fox’s job to break this kind of story.
