Bears WR Jeffery misses practice because of knee injury

With quarterback Jay Cutler’s status in doubt because of a sprained right thumb, the Bears (0-2) might also be without their No. 1 option at wide receiver.

The Chicago Bears season is off to a disgusting start after playing both the 2-0 Texans and 2-0 Eagles to a standstill for three quarters and then imploding in the fourth to lose both games, and then losing a lot more than that with Jay Cutler, Eddie Goldman, Lamarr Houston and Danny Trevathan going down last week with injuries. Brian Hoyer fared pretty well in Cutler’s absence, completing 9 of 12 passes the rest of the way for 78 yards.

The Bears are down three front seven defenders and might go more conservative to contain Prescott and the Dallas running game.

You may have noticed that last week every National Football League writer in this paper picked the Bears over the Eagles.

-Bears WR Alshon Jeffery vs. Cowboys CB Brandon Carr: Jeffery has 201 receiving yards in two games and Carr has one interception and two passes defended.

Prescott, fellow rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott and the rest of the Cowboys talented squad will face off against a Chicago team devastated by injuries. Dez Bryany looked like the Dez Bryant of old, hauling in 7 passes for 102 yards, while Cole Beasley was trying to do his part as well, with 5 catches for 75 yards. Cutler will travel to Dallas with the team. The road team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
