Duke (18-6) watched their streak of 167 consecutive weeks ranked in the Top 25 come crashing to an end following a disastrous run of four losses in five games. Only Villanova, Kansas, North Carolina, Miami, Arizona, Dayton, Notre Dame, Duke and Kentucky were able to get through last week unscathed among now ranked teams.

Allen inbounded the ball to Marshall Plumlee, who handed it right back to the sophomore guard.

Perrantes went 39, which I didn’t realize watching the game.

Villanova is starting its second week at No. 1.

Duke opened the game on fire going on an 11-0 run to take a 11-2 advantage at the 4:59 mark of the first quarter, which forced the Demon Deacons to take a time out. That’s when Duke put together a 7-0 spurt in less than two minutes to lead 51-44. Having followed up a dismal 1-4 stretch with three straight wins, Duke has an opportunity to continue rebuilding confidence. Late in the first half, he scored 12 points in the final 10 minutes. Iowa 20-5 1,349 5.

Krzyzewski credited the under-eight media timeout with giving Duke a chance to regain its composure. Sirmons immediately hit Calipari with a technical foul even though the foul call had gone in Kentucky’s favor. Duke ended up winning the rebounding category 34-26.

Ingram didn’t have a single rebound at the half.

“The best way to learn is through experience, and during January, after losing Amile, we had to become a different team and they were learning that — there wasn’t a preseason to learn it”, coach Mike Krzyzewski said Monday. And we were a few possessions better in the games that we’ve won, and so there’s been continued improvement. When you are playing them, you are running around a lot and it’s tiring. If you think so, you can consider this a complete “home no-call”. “Then we adjusted and did some things with that, too”. “In the second half, we shot 52 percent”.

“I think we did a good job of not turning the ball over on offense”. Coach K’s cake will taste a bit sweeter tonight. Against a sub-.500 ACC team, an opportunity to get back on track and break out of a slump presented itself to the Blue Devils Sunday afternoon.

NORMAN, Okla. – Guard Devonte’ Graham scored a career-high 27 points to outscore Sooners star Buddy Hield as the Jayhawks posted the pivotal victory in Big 12 play. Each of Duke’s previous two teams also dropped two of three at nearly the exact same spot in the schedule. During that 18-point surge, Ingram made all seven shots he took.

Matt Jones started the onslaught with a 3-pointer from the top of the key.

According tooddsmakers at RealBets, Duke is the slight favorite in this game today, as the Blue Devils are getting odds of -2 points against Virginia.

But they caught up at 55 and tied it again at 56 and 58. Greensboro will get first- and second-round games (Mar. 17 & 19), but the next closest early location will be Orlando (Mar. 16 & 18). Ingram would miss his next five shots from the field, though, setting up the finish that went down to the wire. Should Grayson Allen’s game-winner have counted? Virginia became reckless on the perimeter, and their carelessness put Duke in the bonus with 9:28 on the clock. Evan Nolte made one off the bench.

“They used all six of those to squeeze that one out”, Bennett said. “For these kids to be 8-4, it’s just, great”.

Ingram led everyone with 25 points.

Allen added seven assists, Thornton four.

There was one disturbing stat line. Duke went nearly six minutes without a field goal.

“We weren’t bad in the games that we lost”, Krzyzewski said. I give thanks because I told our guys you battled, and you showed some mettle in an obviously super charged environment. He said that Jefferson is only doing basketball-related activities at half speed. But the team gave him a rousing chorus of “Happy Birthday” following the game.
