Beatles’ entire discography now available on Google Play Music
The Beatles – a streaming holdout – will see their songs across streaming music services from today, Re/code reported, citing sources. Apart from Apple, other streaming platforms hosting their music include Spotify, Jay Z’s Tidal service, Amazon Prime, Google Play Music, Slacker, Deezer, Rhapsody, and Microsoft Groove.

According to Re/code, Pandora Media Inc has the music band’s songs on its online radio service, but with various restrictions. The vast difference among those numbers may be what persuaded Universal Music to release the catalog to streaming.
The Beatles (from left to right, John Lennon (1940 – 1980), George Harrison (1943 – 2001), Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr) arrive back at London Airport after their Australian tour.
So now the early albums such as “With the Beatles” and “A Hard Day’s Night” along with later gems like “The White Album, ‘ “Abbey Road” and ‘Let it Be” will be available for streaming.
For years and years, while the streaming wars have dominated consumer music conversations, a major count against streaming services was the fact that the Beatles catalog was unavailable on a lot of them.
This comes as a surprise departure from the music industry’s recent trend against streaming altogether.
Streaming couldn’t have been a bigger part of the music industry conversation in 2015. The services have emerged as a major source of revenue in the years since 2011, when they accounted for about 10 per cent of sales. In addition, for customers who have not subscribed to Google Play Music, The Beatles’ albums will also be available for purchase.
It’s also a huge move in the music world when today’s top-selling artists, like Taylor Swift and Adele, are withholding new music from streaming.
