More than a year after news of a “Power Rangers” reboot was revealed, the studio behind the 2017 film has announced its official cast.

After finalizing the names of Red, Black, Pink and Blue rangers, the makers of the upcoming “Power Rangers” movie have added another update and that too in the form of singer Becky Gomez aka Becky G by casting her as the Yellow Ranger, which means now we have all the five rangers on board. The series has been on the air for 22 years, with its most recent seasons (Samurai, Megaforce, Dino Charge) airing on Nickelodeon since 2013 when Saban announced a partnership with the network and Bandai America through next year.

The Yellow Ranger has been cast. “All she wants is to find her gang of friends, but she’ll never admit it – least of all to herself”.

Now that the film will use the original character’s names, the film is set to see “The Shannon Entropy” actor Ludi Lin as Zack/Black Ranger/Mastodon, “The Martian” actress Naomi Scott as Kimberly/Pink Ranger/Pterodactyl, “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” actor R.J. Cyler as Billy/Blue Ranger/Triceratops, singer-songwriter Becky Gomez as Trini/Yellow Ranger/Sabre-tooth Tiger, and “Betrand the Terrible” actor Dacre Montgomery as Jason/Red Ranger/Tyrannosaurus. Having her personality changed after her absence of six months, Kimberly is actually masking a secret within her. She may be a relative newcomer in the acting field, but she is relatively a force to reckon with compared to the other actors who are set to join her in the “Power Rangers” movie.

Project Almanac” director Dean Israelite will be at the helm of the film.
