A PCR call complaining about beef curry being served at Kerala House near Jantar Mantar here had thrown police into a tizzy yesterday. But Kerala House has set a unsafe precedent by being scared into taking beef off its menu.

However, canteen staff Santosh said, “They told police that we are serving cow meat”.

In the past there have been several cases of violence as a result of the nationwide beef ban and growing incidents of intolerance. “Only buffalo meat is served”, Thomson told reporters here.

Kozhikode/Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Tuesday accused Delhi Police of carrying out “searches” at New Delhi’s Kerala House over an allegation of beef being served there and termed the matter “unfortunate”. However, the Kerala Government has ordered a probe into the incident. It is an official guest house of the state government. “Whatever, Delhi Police should have shown restraint and consulted officials concerned before checking the premises for beef dishes”, the Kerala CM said at a press meet in Kozhikode, as per the New Indian Express. “The police did not even ask for a sample of the meat served in the canteen”, alleged Gupta, according to The Indian Express article. “I came to know about the raids from newspapers”.
