‘Beetlejuice 2’ Is Really Real And Winona Ryder Is So Excited
Last night on Late Night With Seth Meyers, OG manic pixie nightmare girl Winona Ryder confirmed, or rather re-confirmed, since rumors have been swirling and congealing for months, that Beetlejuice II was, in fact, more than a whisper from the great beyond. Which is why it was so awesome to hear her straight-up confirm that yes – YES! “[Burton] did an on camera interview, and he said, ‘Yes!” The sequel is said to be happening, according to Ryder, Keaton and director Tim Burton.

The standout story here is that Ryder apparently can’t get through TSA without saying Beetlejuice three times.
Burton also remarked of the sequel in an interview published by The Daily Mail, “There’s only one Beetlejuice, and that’s Michael. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another”. “There is a script, and I would love to work with him again”.
“Um, I think I can confirm it, because Tim Burton did this interview – like, it was very hush hush, top secret”, Winona told Seth about finally being able to reveal the thrilling sequel. “There’s something that’s cathartic and fantastic about it. I think it’s closer than ever”.

Ryder, who starred opposite Keaton in the 1988 cult comedic fantasy film explained that the project was “hush hush” for a while, but she felt she could bring it up after Burton mentioned the film in his press tour for Big Eyes.
