At today’s EA Star Wars panel at Celebration Europe it was confirmed that the previously mysterious fourth (and now final) downloadable content for Battlefront will be called Rogue One: Scarif. “The pressure is so high”, Edwards says about directing a stand-alone film connected to one of his favorite films of all time. The director also took sound designer Matt Wood from Skywalker Sound into the studio – and said that they shared a fan moment when they heard Jones’s booming voice say the word “power”. It’s the first Star Wars Film.that doesn’t allow months or years to pass between stories.

But even if the crawl is terminated its spirit will live on, because as Edwards went on to point out the entire premise of Rogue One was based on the situation lined out in the opening credits of the very first Star Wars film – courageous rebels stealing Death Star plans in a fierce battle.

Ben Mendelsohn plays Orson Krennic, one of the key villains in the film, and he joked that he did not want to compare his character to other great villains from Disney movies.

The poster for the film shows a beach battle taking place on the planet Scarif – with the Death Star looming in the sky. Thankfully, SWCE delivered with a super-cool behind-the-scenes look at the filming of the movie, and it has us even more excited than we already were for Rogue One.

Just a couple days ago players were debating who we’d see as the two new heroes released with Star Wars Battlefront’s upcoming “Death Star” DLC. “Our hearts go out to the people in Nice, France”.

The release date for the Death Star DLC is still to be determined, but sources cite the release to be sometime this fall.
