Behrami has earned 59 caps for his country and has scored twice on the worldwide stage.

Meanwhile, Spurs midfielder Stambouli could follow in the footsteps of his ex- team-mate Etienne Capoue to Vicarage Road after Watford had a bid for the 24-year-old accepted.

Behrami becomes the newly promoted Premier League club’s latest signing of the summer window after also securing the services of defender Jose Holebas from Roma.
