The three victims “were lightly injured and they were all taken to hospital for first (aid) care”, said Ine Van Wymersch, spokeswoman for the Brussels prosecutor’s office.

The incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. local time on Monday when the woman got into an argument with passengers on an MIVB bus in Ukkel, which is located just outside the capital city.

Two people on the bus were injured, and a third was hurt after the woman fled from the bus, reports BNO News. None of the victims is in serious condition.

Cops are understood to have fired at the female suspect – wounding her, but not seriously.

Belgium media quoted unnamed sources describing the women as suffering from “psychological disorders” and insisting it is not an act of “terrorism”.

Brussels has been on high alert since local ISIS militants carried out the attacks in Paris last November and suicide bombings in the Belgian capital in March.

Witnesses claim the woman was of “Asian” appearance but investigators do not believe the attack is terror-related.
