Belgium arrests two suspects in alleged New Year plot
Brussels’ alert level was raised to the highest possible for several days after the November attacks in Paris, which killed 130 people and were carried out mainly by attackers who had connections to Belgium.

Eight male soldiers and two female police officers had an orgy at a police station in the Ganshoren neighborhood, according to the Belgian news outlet La Dernière Heure.
Two suspects linked to Islamic State were arrested on Thursday.
This “well-developed underground jihadist pipeline” has drawn the ire and fear of many Belgians over the past year, including King Philippe, who spoke in blunt terms of the country’s terrorist threat in his annual Christmas address to the nation last week.
Nine people suspected of links to the Paris attackers have also been taken into custody in Belgium, with the most recent arrest occurring December 22.
Later in the day, Brussels city leaders are expected to decide if the traditional New Year’s Eve fireworks show should proceed or be canceled.
Authorities reportedly found military-style clothing, ISIS propaganda and computer equipment, but did not find any weapons or explosives.
“They were caught before they had the opportunity to take action”, said the office of the chief prosecutor of Ankara, Turkey’s capital.
Authorities have not released any information about the two suspects including their ages, names or nationalities, but a senior counterterrorism official in Belgium told CNN the suspects were part of a Muslim biker gang.
The warning came from a “friendly” intelligence service, which divulged the possibility of fresh terror attacks in the form of shooting or bomb attacks in capital cities across Europe, Vienna police said, according to NBC news.
In January, Belgian anti-terrorism units broke up what they said was an imminent attack on police by raiding a house in the eastern city of Verviers, killing two suspected jihadis and arresting a third.
The top fugitive is Brussels-born Salah Abdeslam, 26, who is suspected of having played a key role in the Paris carnage and understood to have returned to the Belgian capital the day after the bloodshed.

Four other individuals were initially detained and have been released, though authorities have nonetheless made a decision to raise the terror-threat level to 3 out of 4 for at least a week.
