‘Believe Me’: Tim Kaine Mocks Trump in Vice Presidential Acceptance Speech
Democratic vice presidential nominee U.S. Senator Tim Kaine laid into Republican candidate Donald Trump on Wednesday, describing the billionaire as “a one-man wrecking crew” who can not be trusted with America’s future.

Midway through his speech, Kaine metaphorically strapped on a toupée and uttered the words, “Believe me” in Trump’s signature cadence. But you might have noticed, he has a way of using the same two words right after he makes his biggest, “hugest” promises. Kaine’s Trump sounds a lot more brutish than the actual Trump, who often sounds like the fastidious hand washer he is. Twitter thinks so, too.
The devout Catholic formally accepted his party’s nomination for vice president and credited his parents for instilling in him strong values and faith. “Hm, I wonder. Donald Trump!”.
Sen. Kaine with his Virginia appeal, faith, and soft voice may be the kind of moderate-sounding voice that Republicans who are turned off by Trump have been looking for. “He’s got a low-key style but don’t let that mislead you into an intensity of objective”.
He went on to sprinkle his speech with Spanish sayings: “Hillary Clinton and I are compañeros del alma“, he stressed (translating roughly to “brother and sister in arms”).
“So, do you believe him?” Hey, Donald, what are you hiding?
The hilarious Trump shade may have created Twitter’s next great hashtag, #BelieveMe. Tim Kaine for vice president, but officials in charge of the Democratic National Convention canceled his speech for fear restive Bernie Sanders supporters would stage an angry interruption.
Polling has shown that Clinton, who has struggled with controversy over private email servers during her tenure as secretary of state, has a trust issue with voters.
“I trust Hillary Clinton with our son’s life”, Kaine said.
With working-class roots and a spotless record both as Virginia governor and senator, he is seen as helping Clinton garner support among reluctant independent male voters – although at the risk of alienating the party’s progressive left wing.
“He says ‘believe me.’ Well, his creditors, his contractors, his laid-off employees, and his ripped-off students did just that and they all got hurt”, Kaine said.
“‘Listo’ was the best compliment you could pay someone [in Honduras, ]” Kaine said. She’s ready because of her heart. “And that’s what Hillary Clinton is about”. “She’s ready because she knows in America that we are stronger together”.
