Belkin Lightning Adapter Solves iPhone 7 Listen While Charging Problem

At 12:01 a.m. PT Friday, Apple opened up pre-orders for the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and Apple Watch series 2. Consumers able to get their order in early will receive their device when the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus launch on September 16.

At the time of this writing, pre-ordering most versions of the iPhone 7 in Apple’s USA store – Black, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold – will get you some sort of delivery date. (About a week or so after the original shipping date.) That is, unless you’re buying a jet-black model, in which case, the estimated shipping date is somewhere between three to four weeks and “November”, depending on whether you’re buying the iPhone 7 or the iPhone 7 Plus, respectively.

The combo charger and headphone jack adapter you want for your just ordered iPhone 7 is coming from Belkin instead of Apple.

Apple’s critics were pretty vocal with their disappointment in the company for removing the 3.5mm headphone jack from the iPhone 7-a decision Apple made in part to free up more space for other internal components. And despite the fact that the new matte-black option is far superior, the jet-black model seems to be the most-wanted iPhone in the bunch.

Even if it does work, you might still end up needing not only the Belkin adapter, but also the 3.5-mm audio adapter that came with your iPhone 7, and a Lightning-to-USB adapter, both of which would plug into the Belkin one. However, while many users claim it was completely unavailable, this is now not true; it just has a later delivery date.
