After a 15-year hiatus, Bell Biv DeVoe have put out “Run”, a song that revels in the past.

The trio’s fourth studio LP, Three Stripes =, is now slated to drop on January 27, 2017.

As for the single, “Run” is produced by EPMD’s Erick Sermon, who has never been a slouch behind the boards. Then they kick into the same Herb Alpert sample (“Rise”) used in the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize”.

After forming their own separate act apart from NE, Bell Biv Devoe went on to release three albums including the 4x platinum Poison. The three singers’ last album together was New Edition’s 2004 LP One Love, a reunion record that notably did not feature the return of Bobby Brown.

While this is the first B.B.D. song in years, Ricky, Mike, and Ronnie have kept busy, touring with New Edition and helping to produce the upcoming BET mini serious about their legendary group.

The Grammy-nominated trio spun off of ’80s breakout band New Edition in 1990; their debut album Poison peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, selling four million copies in the U.S.
