Ben Affleck Will Direct and Star In a Solo Batman Film
But, come on, Batman was by far the best part of Batman v Superman, and there’s plenty of great material for Warner Bros.to pull from if it does move forward with a solo movie. But the studio just confirmed that not only is a standalone Batman is in the works with Affleck as the famous bat, but the popular actor will also direct the movie.

Warner Bros. confirmed that Affleck would be directing the movie later on Tuesday in a press release. His role as the Dark Knight in the movie was so controversial that the name “Batfleck” was coined, referring to him as Batman.
Clay Enos/DC Comics Ben Affleck will also be behind the screen in a standalone “Batman” movie.
Kevin Tsujihara also had good things to say about the record opening of Batman Vs. Superman, which leads into Justice League.
Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Diane Lane, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Laurence Fishburne, and Amy Adams, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will arrive in United Kingdom and USA cinemas now.
At the San Diego Comic-Con previous year, The Hollywood Reporter indicated that the award-winning actor-director was developing a spinoff Batman project alongside DC Entertainment CCO Geoff Johns.
“There’s a script he’s written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that’s out there as an option”, said Patrick Whitesell, co-CEO of WME.
The session was highlighted by director David Ayer bringing out the cast of Suicide Squad, including Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne, Will Smith and Jared Leto.
No plot details or other casting has been announced for the upcoming Batman film.
For now, Affleck is next set to reprise his role as The Caped Crusader in Suicide Squad, out August 5, and Justice League: Part One, due November 17, 2017.

It is still unsure when the movie will take place, either after the events of Batman V Superman or after Batman’s original crime fighting years as a prequel.
