Ben Carson Fires Staff Amid Budget Cuts
Salaries are being significantly reduced. Carson adviser Armstong Williams said this plan has been in discussion for weeks and was only postponed for the sake of seeing how the caucus would play out.

The retired neurosurgeon’s fundraising dropped off immediately after the Hawkeye State contest, the Washington Post reported, resulting in the staff cuts, which amount to about 50% of the campaign’s employees.
A campaign source said the changes will help Carson’s campaign “focus their energy a little bit more” on the upcoming primaries in New Hampshire and SC.
Was Carson’s campaign “successful?”
“Dr. Carson is going to get his campaign lean-really lean”, Carson confidant Armstrong Williams told the Post.
The development came after Carson placed fourth in Monday’s Iowa caucuses with about 9.3% of the vote. Ted Cruz, who won the Iowa caucuses, for circulating rumors as the caucuses were underway, saying that Carson was withdrawing from the presidential race.
Williams stressed that Carson was just as determined as ever to continue with his campaign after Sen. Carson has called those efforts “dirty tricks”.
