Southerners in large parts of Louisiana and Arkansas awoke to tornado watches two days before Christmas. Williams and Bennett have been clashing over Carson’s image and approach, Republicans said, to the point where they often communicate directly to Carson with competing messages.
A grand jury on Wednesday indicted a truck driver accused of crashing into a limo van past year on the New Jersey Turnpike, injuring comedian Tracy Morgan and killing one of his comic friends. As an example, he noted that Trump had complimented him during the most recent GOP debate in Las Vegas.
When several reporters for the main newspaper in Las Vegas were taken off their beats and assigned to investigate three judges, the decision seemed unusual because it came from the paper’s new owners, not a newsroom… “Dr. Carson is back in charge”, said press secretary Deana Bass when asked about the potential campaign shake-up. Every little thing is on the table, each job is on the table. CNN previously reported that Carson’s campaign was in crisis and that the unorthodox structure of the neophyte politician’s campaign was proving to be a liability.
Told of Carson’s remarks, Bennett declined to comment immediately. “I’m getting ready to have a conversation with him”.
‘I don’t know who gave it to you, but they were not supposed to, ‘ Delany told the Wall Street Journal.
The apparent rift between Carson, Williams and the paid campaign staff comes after his weeks-long slide in polls.
Carson has struggled to convey a grasp of foreign policy, an issue that rocketed to the top of GOP voters’ concerns after the terror attacks in Paris and San Bernardino.
Then there is the internal disarray. “It’s not flawless and we’re going to work on it”.
“We’ve had enormous fundraising, but that requires that you be efficient in the way you utilize the funds. And, yes, we are looking at all those things”. They also raised questions about who is making decisions and who holds more influence with Carson.
This argument resonates with voters like Bill Molloy of Bedford. “He knows how to control his ego – he’s not going to make decisions about national security based on emotion, he’ll collect the facts, confer with the experts and make good, sound decisions that aren’t involved with ego”, Molloy said. “And they were convinced that I was gonna fire everybody and we were going to just go in a completely different direction, and that’s absolutely not true”.
“I certainly don’t expect to get through a campaign without some scratches and bruises”, Carson said.
