Ben Carson Takes a Trip to Jordan to Meet With
U.S. Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said Saturday that more should be done to help refugees, and while the United States should do more to resolve the crisis, accepting thousands of refugees into the country would do nothing, ABC News reported. “In the coming days I will offer what I believe are real solutions to the problems created in part by the Obama Clinton administration’s failed policies”, Carson said in the statement.

Carson spoke with Syrian refugees and officials during visits to several medical facilities, adding that he was delighted to learn about the humanitarian efforts by other countries to help assist the suffering refugees.
More than 4 million Syrians fled their homeland since 2011, after a popular uprising erupted against President Bashar Assad and quickly turned into a devastating civil war.
Ben Carson said today the United States must do more to help solve the Syrian crisis, but that bringing 25,000 refugees from the conflict to the US will “do nothing”.
Carson applauded the magnanimity of the Jordanian government, who has admitted Syrian refugees “with open arms”, noting that Jordan is a small kingdom with limited resources.
Meanwhile, recent polls show that Carson’s popularity has been fading in Iowa and other early states.
Carson is scheduled to return to the United States late Saturday, Bennett said.
“Amman, Jordan – Just over two months ago I began planning a trip over the Thanksgiving Weekend to visit with Syrian Refugees, Jordanian Government Officials, and NGO’s”.
Said Carson: “We must end the war and prioritize helping the millions of Syrians who want to stay near their homes”. He argued Islam may not be consistent with the principles of the U.S. Constitution.
Carson has repeatedly struggled to discuss worldwide affairs as they become a greater focus in the 2016 presidential contest. Carson said of Syrian refugees: “If there is a rabid dog running around your neighborhood, you’re probably not going to assume something good about that dog”. “Syrians want to go home and live in peace”. They have complained that they are carrying an unfair burden while the global community’s support has fallen short.

The U.S. remains one of the largest donors for Syrian host countries, providing $1.6 billion in assistance to the United Nations and host governments in Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq in the 2015 fiscal year.
