Ben Carson: Ted Cruz Has a ‘Responsibility’ to Endorse Donald Trump
“It’s not like Donald Trump did something different from when people made that pledge”.

Cleveland – Undercutting calls for Republican unity, Texas Sen.
But by the end, delegates were booing him, booing the Texas delegation, and shouting out for Trump. But he didn’t endorse Trump.
After two nights of low-energy speeches, the crowd packed into the arena was noticeably more energetic Wednesday night, dancing in the aisles and waving signs reading, “America Deserves Better Than Hillary”.
The tipping point: He told convention-goers to “vote your conscience” in November.
Pence bragged that his “strong Republican leadership” has achieved results in IN, “and that’s exactly the kind of strong Republican leadership Donald Trump will bring to the White House”. “I just don’t know why Cruz did this”. “The only choice is a Trump-Pence Republican ticket”.
Carson, who has been advising Trump’s campaign since he dropped out of the Republican primary, said even if Cruz doesn’t endorse Trump during his speech tonight, it’s still an important opportunity for him to make peace with his former foe.
Cruz’s wife, Heidi, was seen leaving the arena when the booing started getting very loud. Minutes later, a delegate had to be restrained from physically attacking Cruz.
Sheldon Adelson, a major Republican Party donor, even denied Cruz entry to his personal suite after his speech, according to CNN and BuzzFeed. “Ted Cruz said you can vote your conscience for anyone who can uphold the Constitution”. “I’m not going to get into criticizing or attacking Donald Trump, but I’ll give you this response: I am not in the habit of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my father”.
Cruz was still one of the most talked about topics on social media, capturing attention ahead of Trump’s big speech.
Hillary Clinton posted a brutal rebuttal to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s RNC speech using behind-the-scenes footage of a meeting between her and Christie.
During the campaign for the party’s nomination, Trump insulted Cruz’s wife’s looks and suggested the Texan’s father was with John F. Kennedy’s assassin just before the president was shot in Dallas in 1963. “Chip in now to make sure he never steps foot in the Oval Office”, she said in a fundraising tweet.
Marco Rubio, another former Trump rival, will address delegates by video, and Trump’s son Eric will follow his brother and sister at the GOP podium. Cruz powered through, but much of the crowd wasn’t listening. And Pence and Trump are set to address a group of hundreds of donors at a lunch Thursday, the final day of the convention.
Midway through, the four children shifted in their five chairs – leaving one open in the middle.
The drama did not prevent Trump’s vice presidential running mate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, from receiving a raucous welcome inside the convention hall.
Still, Pence delivered a strong performance that thrilled the crowd and helped the nation get to know him. “I’m a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican, in that order”, he said. An awkward air kiss punctuated their embrace.
The focus of the race will remain on Clinton and Trump.
Opponents brand Trump a bigot with his calls to temporarily ban the entry of Muslims and to build a border wall with Mexico to keep out illegal immigrants. “He’s a doer in a game usually reserved for talkers”, Pence said. He doesn’t tip-toe around a thousand new rules of political correctness. Earlier Tuesday, some Republicans were saying Cruz’s supporters wanted to gather enough signatures to allow the Texan to be nominated.
It was standard fare for the Trump-loving convention.
They booed Cruz off the stage, broke out in their own chants about Clinton to “lock her up” and exploded the moment the real estate mogul took the stage to congratulate Pence.
But as Trump rattled off primary wins, tensions rose between the candidates. But the crowd at the convention is the definition of the Republican establishment, and that establishment has crowned Trump as their nominee.
