Ben Carson: the most misunderstood candidate?

Donald Trump won’t stop talking about 9/11.

Addressing thousands of people in Columbus, Ohio, the Republican frontrunner praised waterboarding, an interrogation method that has been called torture.

“There were unequivocally people – not just in the Boston area, but around the country – who were happy, if you can believe this, with the devastation that was caused on 9/11”.

The tweet from Trump was an apparent attempt to incite people and gain support. “I didn’t know that they had an agenda behind the question”.

Polls released this weekend show Trump is, by far, the most trusted GOP candidate to tackle the threat of terrorism in the United States, and more Republicans see Trump as honest and trustworthy than don’t. Trump says if bin Laden was taken out at that point, the attacks on the World Trade Center would not have happened. “Mr. Trump has provided them to local media outlets that have covered this coverage that they don’t want to go and talk about”.

Trump, who has been advocating a bullish – if vague – approach to foreign policy, declared, “Only a stupid person would say it doesn’t work”.

Trump added that in his view 9/11 “was worse than Pearl Harbor because at least with Pearl Harbor they were attacking the military”.

“No one in Jersey City cheered on September 11th”. The comments come despite denials by police and other New Jersey public officials – and the absence of news reports detailing such events of that day.

In October, Ben Carson led Iowa with 28% support. On his hyperactive Twitter account, Trump has attacked politicians, retweeted an image of a swastika, and most recently shared an inaccurate statistic about the murder rate among African-Americans. They asked me: Did I see the film? “I think that was an inappropriate response”, Carson said of the cheering. “This could be the – it’s probably not, but it could be the great Trojan horse of all time, where they come in”.

“Whether it’s thousands and thousands or 1,000 people or even just 1 person, it’s irrelevant”. I’m going to be the best protector.

The Washington Post had already updated its story many hours earlier to include the quote from its 2001 story and said it didn’t change the rating it was giving Trump’s claims.
