Ben Carson travels to Jordan to visit Syrian refugees
Gov. Jeff Colyer is accompanying GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson to refugee camps along the Jordan-Syrian border, the administration of Gov. Sam Brownback announced Saturday.

“Today I listened to the life struggles of many Syrians who were forced to flee their home”, Carson said in a statement issued from Amman, Jordan.
Carson said that over the coming days he will put forward what he believes are real solutions “to the problems created in part by the Obama/ Clinton Administrations failed policies”.
“Many organizations are trying to help injured Syrians and refugees, but they are overwhelmed, said Colyer who has volunteered during the Syrian conflict over several years”.
“Bringing 25,000 refugees to the United States does nothing to solve this crisis”, Carson said in the email. “Syrians want to go home and live in peace”. Carson also posted a picture of his visit on his Facebook page.
It was unclear what that figure referred to, as President Barack Obama has said 10,000 Syrians would be allowed into the U.S.in the next year, four times more than the total number admitted since 2011. But Jordan is a small country.
“The United States must do more”. Advisers have conceded that his knowledge of global affairs isn’t where it needs to be and have expressed hope that missions like his two-day trip to Jordan will help. He argued Islam may not be consistent with the principles of the U.S. Constitution.
In it, he describes his experience visiting a Jordanian camp for Syrian refugees and also takes a strong stance with the government of Jordan.
“For Carson, it gives him a lot of difficulty”, said Andy Smith, the director of the University of New Hampshire Survey Center.
After comparing Syrian refugees to rabid dogs just a week ago, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson – a neurosurgeon turned conservative Christian evangelist – significantly softened his tone Saturday after meeting with refugees in Jordan.

And he broadened his call for financial support beyond Americans: “The humanitarian crisis presented by the fleeing Syrian refugees can be addressed if the nations of the world with resources would provide financial and material support to the aforementioned countries as well as encouragement”. “The global community must do more”. Many Republicans have linked the Paris attackers to Syrian refugees, although European authorities have yet to confirm such connections.
