Burfict’s penalty, and another on Adam Jones after Burfict hit defenseless Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, led to a fourth field goal of the game to give the Steelers their first playoff win since the 2010 AFC championship game.

Roethlisberger injured his right shoulder in the third quarter of Saturday night’s wild-card win at Cincinnati.
Tomlin said he did not have specific details of Roethlisberger’s injury, but said backup quarterback Landry Jones will have “extensive opportunities to participate” in practice this week. Burfict was flagged for unnecessary roughness by making forcible contact to the head and neck area of a defenseless receiver, and Brown ended up with a concussion on the play.
In the meantime, Tomlin said running back DeAngelo Williams (sprained foot), who did not play against the Bengals, is “still on the outside looking in”, meaning it is unlikely he will play against the Broncos.
“It’s a playoff game and whoever loses goes home, so I think that’s enough”, cornerback Bradley Roby said.
“I actually got hit by a can, a bottle, or what(ever) it was”, he said. “We are always hopeful”.

A three game suspension is unprecedented for this type of action, so it will be interesting to see how the appeal plays out and when it will occur as the suspension wouldn’t start until the next National Football League season.
As the Steelers prepare to travel to Denver for their AFC Divisional playoff matchup with the top-seeded Broncos, they do it knowing that they are more than capable of coming away with a victory.
He’s been on the injury report dozens of times during his career but only missed 15 total games because of injury, and never more than four in a season. “But they (the Steelers) did a good job of dangling that meat in front of us”.
“We’re moving on”, Tomlin said.
“Once they go across that line (onto the field), there’s not much I can do from there unless I go out on the field, which I’m not allowed to”, Lewis said.
Brown finished that game with 16 catches, 189 yards and two touchdowns. As Mike Tomlin spoke to what we all already knew, Roethlisberger will be limited in the early portion of the week, even in a best case scenario. But crazier things have happened and that’s why they play the games.

Tomlin said he is open to being creative with his quarterbacks against the Broncos. I think we’ll be OK that way. “I’ve played against him”.
