Ben Stiller cameos on SNL as Zoolander
Ben Stiller “sleepwalks through this drab, inconsequential comedy sequel” according to David Jenkins from Little White Lies, while nearly everyone agreed that it simply was not amusing with one too many recycled gags. Inside the The Derek Zoolander Center for People Who Don’t Age Good, guests were taken on a 6 1/2 step process to test if you had aged poorly.

Zoolander 2 tells the story of Derek and Hansel (Owen) who are modeling again when an opposing company attempts to take them out from the business.
With Zoolander 2, Stiller and Justin Theroux have created a vapid reproduction of the original that sees great comic actors overshadowed by the sheer number of self-indulgent cameos.
However, a lot like JJ Abrams’ blatant Star Wars remake, it manages to repeat the joys of the original, a bit like the very good Anchorman sequel, a movie which did for the vanity of USA broadcast news what Zoolander did for the vacuity of the fashion world.
On Saturday’s “SNL”, the pair of Derek Zoolander and Hansel hilariously held forth with host Colin Jost on fashion crimes apparently committed by this year’s crop of presidential candidates.
Penelope Cruz stars as Interpol agent Melanie Valentina, the replacement for Christine Hamilton’s Matilda, though in a movie about male models it’s incredible that she is objectified the most.
Yes, the woman who was scathingly sent up by Meryl Streep in the fictional “The Devil Wears Prada” has fully embraced the lunacy that is “Zoolander“, down to pairing Stiller (in Dolce & Gabbana) with Penelope Cruz, his “Zoolander” co-star, on the current Vogue cover.
Designers were also assassins (Will Ferrell, as the brash and ridiculous Mugatu) and male models were at risk of death from frivolous fights at petrol stations.
Quinlin (Quinn) Stiller hit the red carpet in NY with his famous dad and managed to steal the show by giving his best Blue Steel impression in every photo.
“First of all, the fact that he even did the first movie was awesome because nobody knew what we were doing at that point and I don’t know why he said yes”.
Still, it’s fun to see Zoolander once more.

“I said yes (to the stunt) because I had the protection of my character and I was with the boys”, she explained. They also spoke highly of Trump and talked about some of their favorites from among the mogul’s looks: Orange Mocha Crapaccino, Hot Mess, and, after Iowa, Second Place.
