Australian Pokemon Go users are having problems logging into the reality mobile game because of high demand.

The authorities in the USA have warned people not to drive while searching for characters.

Although it is officially available only in the US, Australia and New Zealand, there are workarounds available that allow users in other geographies to play the game, which is available on iOS and Android.

While it’s not confirmed if that is the case, the aussieoutages site is carrying numerous messages reporting server issues – to the distress of some players.

Pokemon Go’s global rollout is being held back by the unexpected popularity of the game, which has shot to the top of download charts since it debuted less than a week ago.

The objective is to earn points and win virtual lollies and stardust by capturing “wild” Pokemon that appear at random as the user moves about, or lures them with incense.
