Bengals stay winless, defense gets burned late by Packers

The defense got to Rodgers for six sacks, including 2 1/2 for linebacker Carl Lawson, but the Packers’ protection shored up after halftime. While the Packers will have to battle the heat, they’ll also be missing quite a few notable starters.

Aaron Rodgers burned another defense deep with a free play.

While the Packers still pulled out the win, Rodgers was sacked six times and Kyle Murphy continues to be shaky as the primary backup. He had been 0-7 in his career in OT.

After injuring his quad in last Sunday’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Nelson was a big question mark as to if he would even play against the Bengals. He can check that one of the list as well.

“We’ve had kind of a rally and cry. So whoever’s out there lining up is going to be expected to play well”. “WE gotta dig deep sometimes and push through some adversity”, Aaron Rodgers said. Detroit appeared to have thrown the game-winning score with 12 seconds left, but Golden Tate was ruled down before he scored after review and the touchdown was overturned. He led the Packers in receiving with six catches for 122 yards. They did, on a laser from Rodgers to Jordy Nelson. He’s now second in all time franchise history, behind Don Hutson at 99. “I’ve known Geronimo has been a player for a long time”, Rodgers said of Allison, who came to Green Bay as an undrafted free agent from IL last season, and quickly earned a spot on the 53-man roster after starting the season on the practice squad.

The Packers flipped the script after the Bengals controlled the first half. Sn inspired San Francisco team then pushed forward for eight plays before a one yard run by Carlos Hyde got them into the end zone to pull the score to 41-39. “And I thought he definitely took full advantage of his opportunity”.

“It’s unfortunate that the President made a decision to use his vast platform to make divisive and offensive statements about our players and the NFL”. “We just need to close it out”. In this league it’s all about finishing. As a black man, I understand what people stand for and the life we live. Everybody know that. You could start off in a bad place and it’s all about how you finish at the end of the day.

The Bengals got a big stop with about 10 minutes to go when cornerback Josh Shaw broke up a third-and-5 pass to Bennett.

“Everyone should feel the responsibility for things not going well on offense – that’s the coaches and the players”.

“This year, I feel more comfortable out there”.

And, hey, we’ve got some – though not very much – of next week to focus on how Green Bay can/might/should/will hopefully fix those issues before they face the Chicago Bears on Thursday night at Lambeau Field.

“This has put the players in an awkward spot”, said head coach Marvin Lewis. Kendricks caught a touchdown pass on the Packers opening drive of the game, and he produced a catch-and-run for a 51-yard gain that jump-started a struggling Packers offense to open the second half.
