Bengals-Steelers wild-card rematch highlights early games
They defeated the Bengals, 18-16 in Cincinnati as the Bengals were the AFC North champions last season. Beckham received three personal fouls in that game and was eventually suspended for a game. Several of his teammates and several Steelers were penalized and subsequently fined for hits in the games. A better supporting cast around an already ultra-talented quarterback is a recipe for many big games from Pittsburgh’s star under center. Pittsburgh has beaten the Bengals in six of the last seven meetings, 10 of the last 13, 15 of the last 20. “I don’t know how we’re going to respond because the game hasn’t happened yet, but we’ve prepared to respond in the most professional way as possible”. “We can care less about it if you want to talk about it”.

“He’s a big dude”, Peko said. “We are always excited about it because No. 1, having an opportunity to play in front of our fans, and No. 2, we respect the rivalries that comprise our relationships in the AFC North”, Tomlin said. “You have to bring your hard hat because you know it’s going to be a game where you have to work”. The Bengals got big plays from AJ Green, but were bad on third down and lost the time of possession battle. The Steelers beat the Redskins, 38-16, and the Bengals beat the Jets, 23-22.
In this year’s version of the rivalry, Pittsburgh should have the edge since it gets this contest at home.
Divisional matchups are never boring and this NFL Week 2 game preview proves it with a grudge match between the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers ended 2015 ranked third in total offense, and they begin 2016 with a healthy Ben Roethlisberger, something Pittsburgh didn’t have at multiple points a year ago.
“Those types of games are physical”, Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey said.
“I wanted to go, I expected to go but I wasn’t able to”, Wheaton said. He’s beaten the Steelers three times since 2012, including twice at Heinz Field. Regardless of a couple small issues at hand, I think the Bengals will stun the Steelers in Pittsburgh this week 23-21. But they’ll be without free safety T.J. Green (knee) and cornerback Patrick Robinson (concussion) who were injured on opening day against Detroit.
The one thing Pittsburgh has that the Bengals do not is a long run of postseason success.
The Steelers don’t have a corner who can go toe-to-toe with Green so the best plan of attack is to go after Dalton and disrupt him and throw as many different looks at him as they can to keep him from finding Green and hope for the best. Like Bell, Green missed a wild-card playoff game the following week. Also, CJ Uzoma contributed 59 yards in two catches.
Not only are these two considered rivals, but they also battled it out in a playoff game last season.
Burfict changed his Twitter photo to one of him hitting Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. They did well enough to keep Kirk Cousins at bay, but Washington did manage nearly 400 yards of total offense.
What does last week’s game mean for this team moving forward?
The Bengals were expected to add offensive lineman Try Hopkins to the practice squad after they cut him to make room for Russell. Questionable: DT Pat Sims (ankle). Monday night saw a courageous 4th down call early on as Big Ben faked a plunge for DeAngelo Williams and dropped a bomb into the endzone for Antonio Brown – and that was in a non-conference game.

Asking for two National Football League quarterbacks to combine for 800 passing yards in one game might be asking for too much, but these quarterbacks are capable of doing some serious damage with their arms. “Our main thing was the day after to see how I felt”, Heyward said. “I felt good out there, just knocking off some rust”.
