While the defense did begin breaking down in the fourth quarter, they held the Texans to just three points through three quarters while the offense was doing close to nothing. Hopkins’ incredible take was the culmination of an expertly marshalled drive by stand-in Yates, who marched the Texans 79 yards up-field before his 22-yard floated pass to Hopkins which settled the match. Yates was something else.
Hoyer was escorted to the locker room with the Texans trailing 6-3 late in the third quarter. Yates hit DeAndre Hopkins for the only touchdown of the game on a spectacular catch on the sideline in the end zone and hung airborne for a long time but managed to catch the ball and get both feet in bounds for the score.

Dalton had another rough night under the prime-time lights, going 22 of 38 for 197 yards and an interception. Cincinnati’s final chance slipped away when A.J. Green for what would have been a first down at the Texans 23-yard line with 40 seconds left, but safety Quintin Demps stripped him of the ball and recovered the fumble.
