The V8 S sits between the standard Flying Spur V8 and the higher-end W12 model. Like other Bentleys, the Flying Spur V8 S can deactivate four of the engine’s cylinders under light loads to increase efficiency.

That shaves 0.3 second off the sedan’s 0 to 60 miles per hour time, allowing the Flying Spur V8 S to do the job in 4.9 seconds. As the name suggests, the Flying Spur V8 S will slot in between the two existing models, offering more power, a revised suspension system and a host of sporty visual cues.

The V8’s grunt is sent to all four-wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox, with the rear wheels favoured thanks to a 40:60 torque split. The company has tweaked the throttle and transmission for sharper responses, while there’s also sportier tuning for the stability control system. The Flying Spur V8 S makes its official debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show next month.

Exterior revisions include new badging, a black radiator grille, rear diffuser and 20-inch gloss painted wheels, while more black detailing can be specified optionally. At an additional cost, clients can opt for larger 21-inch Mulliner Driving Specification black wheels, tinted headlights and taillights, and glossy black mirror covers. In case you’re not looking for the massive W12 version of the Continental Flying Spur, the V8S might be just the choice for you. Inside the cabin, you’ll find piano-black wood veneers, a three-spoke sports steering wheel, a knurled gear lever with matching knurled shift paddles, and multiple “V8 S” logos including on the headrests. V8 S models also get two-tone seats with a contrasting roof center bow, which could make for some trippy color combinations if buyers choose to get really creative.
