Because our information on Syrian refugees is very limited, the legislation would effectively put a pause on the program. He also reiterated his belief the best plan would be to establish areas in or near Syrian where refugees could get help.
The bill imposes no religious test. It simply insists on greater security. It would be a shame if we squander our claim to moral authority and compassionate humanitarianism just to keep 10,000 desperate Syrians out of our country.

That is simply common sense. “That is – if we don’t know much about somebody, there won’t be anything in our database”. The ultimate solution is a plan to defeat ISIS, but until we are willing to truly confront this terrorist threat wherever it is, we can not be truly safe.
