Bernie Sanders Campaign: DNC ‘Actively Attempting to Undermine’ Campaign

The Sanders campaign blasted the DNC at a press conference Friday, calling the decision to block the data an “inappropriate overreaction”.

“If you look at a pattern of contact, we’ve obviously had concern about the Saturday night debate schedule and its impact on the ability of campaigns to get their message out”, Weaver said.

The dust-up between Sanders and the Democratic National Committee come days before a DNC-sanctioned presidential debate in New Hampshire.

“The campaign acknowledged they improperly accessed information to which they were not entitled, proprietary information for Hillary Clinton – that’s not in dispute”, Wasserman Schultz said.

“To my knowledge, we did not export any records or voter file data that were based on those scores”, he said. “We wanted to document and understand the extent of the problem”.

Sanders’ team, meanwhile, accused the Democratic Party of holding his White House bid hostage by temporarily barring it from accessing its own voter data. “What is required here is a full and independent audit of the DNC’s mishandling of this data, and its security from the beginning of this campaign to the present”. At that time our campaign did not run to the media, relying instead on assurance from the vendor that the problem would be resolved.

The incident comes as Sanders struggles to keep pace with Mrs. Clinton. On Thursday, the Sanders campaign received the endorsement of the Communications Workers of America, a major union.
