Bernie Sanders Expected to Call for Unity During DNC Address
Ed Mullen, 49, a delegate from IL, said he supported Sanders but would vote for Clinton in November.

These findings will surprise some observers who thought this was one year when voters were so polarized that a convention “bounce” was unlikely, and will clearly shock Democrats who watched the show in Cleveland and found it repellent. Clinton also drew attention to her plan not to privatize VA healthcare – a topic of concern for many veterans.
“I know how serious this is”.
National polls don’t have a large enough sample to accurately reflect the state of play in key battlegrounds, and there is little information so far on how Trump’s convention performance has affected the presidential race state-by-state.
“You will never hear me say that I only listen to myself on national security”, Clinton said at the 117th Veterans of Foreign Wars convention.
The convention added a big boost for Donald Trump and has taken a 5-point lead over Hillary and gained six points. On the one hand, the conventions are not a particularly good time to sweat every tick in the polls.
To both tears and cheers, former presidential nominee Bernie Sanders took the podium at the Democratic National Convention to urge his supporters to come together and vote for Hillary Clinton, telling them they can not “sit out” the election.
Sanders, in his speech, praised his supporters for pushing an agenda that put the needs of ordinary people above politics as usual. Maybe that’s why: “It’s too close”, Trump said.
Democratic party bosses later issued an apology to Mr Sanders for what they said were “inexcusable” emails. “That’s what Donald Trump wants”, Sanders said in the email.
Bernie Sanders says Hillary Clinton will make – in his words – “an outstanding president”.
Russell called on supporters of Sanders and Hillary Clinton to unite in the effort to defeat Trump in November. Dozens were briefly detained when they tried to storm barricades outside the Wells Fargo Center. “None of us can deny that”, said the leader of the Sanders delegation from Wisconsin, Peter Rickman of Milwaukee.
“I am really not happy with the party”, said Leslie Harris, a retired educator from Dallas. “This right now is the greatest country on earth”, the first lady said, slamming Trump as unfit for the presidency.
Another series of protests and rallies was planned for Tuesday, the anger reflecting the widening rift inside the Democratic Party and the convention hall itself between Sanders’ supporters and Clinton’s. “We won this by standing up”, Russell told the convention. He said he’s ready to be president, and that he’s ready to fight for Americans. If she had, Sanders delegate Ingrid Olsen of Council Bluffs predicted the outgoing chairwoman would be booed and many would turn their backs.
Speaking about the VA system, she said she would make it “world class”, and scoffed at calls for privatization.
The Republican presidential nominee was down seven points prior to the convention, with Clinton holding a strong 49 percent to 42 percent lead over him.
Clinton also used the speech to bash Trump without actually using the nominee’s name. “What we don’t know for sure is whether this is a moment or a movement”, he said.
While avoiding any direct mention of Trump’s name, Clinton slammed many of his recent statements about the military and worldwide affairs, vowing to stand by longtime allies, fight repressive regimes and carefully weigh the advice of military officials.

“They laid out very clearly and forcefully the question they want to litigate in this election”, said Geoff Garin, pollster for the pro-Clinton super PAC Priorities USA, during a panel in Philadelphia.
