Bernie Sanders Fights Back Tears as Brother Casts Vote
Few protesters expressed a willingness to embrace Republican nominee Donald Trump in the general election, saying that Clinton would lose to the NY billionaire whether they voted for her or not.

But Trump, who has never held elective office, got a boost in opinion polls from his nomination at the Republican convention last week.
WCHL’s Aaron Keck spoke with DeLuca and Hughes on Tuesday – as well as Mark Jewell, the president-elect of the North Carolina Association of Educators, who’s also on hand as a Clinton delegate.
Sanders told USA TODAY recently it was important for his delegates to cast their ballots for him at the convention because “I want the country and the world and our people to appreciate the kind of success we’ve had”. Moments after she claimed the nomination, a group of Sanders supporters left the convention and headed to a media tent to protest at what they said was their being shut out of the party.
An appeal for party unity by Hillary Clinton delegates at the Democratic National Convention was a little too strong for some Bernie Sanders delegates from NY.
And, in a retort to criticism that Hillary Clinton represents the status quo, Bill Clinton said she was the “best changemaker I’ve ever met”.
Vermont passed during the roll call and Sanders joined the delegation when they culminated the states’ roll call.
It is a historic moment 150 years in the making, starting when suffragettes demanded the right to vote and Victoria Claflin Woodhull became the first woman to run for president in the United States in 1872.
Clinton’s nomination was proposed by Congresswoman Barbara A Mikulski, the first Democratic woman elected to the Senate, and the first woman to chair the powerful Senate Committee on Appropriations.
With temperatures climbing again toward the mid-90s, Chris Scully, an engineer from Troy, New York, held a “Jill Before Hill” sign outside City Hall and said he opposes Clinton because of her war record as USA secretary of state.
The “real” Hillary Clinton has “earned the loyalty and respect of people of worked with her in every stage of her life”, he said, arguing the only line of attack available to his wife’s opponents was to “create a cartoon”. Controversy over her use of a private email server for official business while she served as America’s top diplomat dogged her during the primary election season.
Bill has been one of Hillary’s most enthusiastic surrogates throughout this campaign (as well as in 2008), and Tuesday saw his 10th convention speech. She added, “The idea that I’m going to be here when the first woman president is nominated is overwhelming”. But he carries some liabilities.

Earlier Tuesday morning, Sanders told his supporters: “It is easy to boo”. At the 2012 Democratic convention, he made an emotional case for the re-election of Obama. There were jeers and boos to pro-Clinton speeches Monday night and continued anti-Clinton signs Tuesday. She also said that alliances are a “source of strength”.
