“My heart had always been with Hillary Clinton, but my head had me in a neutral corner”, Clyburn said as he announced his support for Clinton last week.
But with SC on tap Saturday, many believe it’s the ultimate must-win for Sanders.
Most polls indicate Hillary Clinton has a sizeable lead heading into the primary, but she wasn’t taking any chances. “That’s what the killer here in Charleston did”.
Following voting in three states, Clinton leads Sanders in pledged delegates, 52 to 51. But Richard Murray, professor of political science at the University of Houston, said SC is more than that. “I’ve been quiet for so long”, he said.
Within the poll, 71 percent of African-American respondents support Clinton, versus 25 percent for Sanders.
She acknowledged Democrats probably won’t take back the House of Representatives, “so we have to have a president who knows when to stand your ground, but also knows how to find common ground”. Hillary Clinton also received the endorsement of South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn, the influential black lawmaker who stayed neutral in the 2008 primary, but was critical of the former president’s comments. “Wake up, South Carolina”. Gonzalo Barrientos. He’s endorsing Clinton because she’s been active in the Latino community here in Texas for decades. Christie accused him of parroting the same talking points repeatedly and said a president should be able to think on his feet. “We can talk about why they ended up that way, but first we have to bring them to heel”.
To compound Clinton’s margin, women made up well over half the turnout, the entrance poll found.
In a statement released by her campaign Thursday, Clinton said she “shouldn’t have used those words, and I wouldn’t use them today”.
While there are some Sanders supporters who are vowing “Bernie or bust”, most of the Sanders folks are like Sec.
Sanders posed questions to the sanctuary packed with hundreds of Flint residents, met with shouts of “No!” and “Boo!” when he asked if the government’s response to the situation had been adequate.
