Earlier this month, Mr. Kaine said he had not seen a Democratic Party platform draft calling for the Hyde Amendment’s repeal, but he would “check it out”.

During the Virginia rally, the billionaire businessman unleashed a barrage of attacks against Clinton in light of the latest scandal to overshadow her run for office.

On July 6, Kaine told The Weekly Standard that he has “traditionally been a supporter of the Hyde amendment”.

They’ll highlight lesser-known parts of her biography, such as her early work as an activist for children and families, her push to expand federal health insurance to millions of children as first lady and her advocacy for 9/11 first responders as a NY senator. Trump senior policy adviser Paul Manafort called the Clinton campaign statements “pretty desperate” and “pretty absurd”. Donald still made sure to call her “Crooked Hillary” during the speech as that nickname as totally stuck.

The group has been conducting straw polls of Sanders’ delegates, and plans to survey the bunch again in the next 24 hours about possible protests or even floor action to object to Kaine on the ticket.

The governor is not as close to Kaine as he is to the Clintons, but he has played key roles in Kaine’s political rise. He’s also fluent in Spanish, making him a valuable asset in Spanish-language media as the campaign appeals to Hispanic Americans turned off by Trump’s harsh rhetoric about immigrants.

The former Virginia governor is on tonight’s agenda alongside President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. Tom Kean Jr. “He was discussing a specific proposal in Virginia”.

But in Philadelphia, Delegates waved “Love Trumps Hate” signs and leapt to their feet as immigration supporters, gay rights advocates, and labor leaders took the stage.

Kaine is viewed skeptically by some liberals in the Democratic Party, who dislike his support of free trade and Wall Street. Overall, 44% of Democratic voters say they’d like to see the party nominate Sanders, compared with 37% who felt that way about Clinton heading in to the 2008 Democratic convention. “Clinton takes responsibility for any “impression” of corruption and for any actions causing people to have “legitimate questions about” her”.

Clinton’s campaign closely guarded the selection process, keeping the names of finalists under wraps to try to maximize the impact of the announcement.

The voting public also tilts positive on Clinton’s family, including her husband, former president Bill Clinton, and daughter, Chelsea Clinton. Plenty of Democrats are eager to step forward if her answer is no. When he addresses the convention Tuesday night, the Clinton campaign team may well be thinking, “First, do no harm”.

The Republican convention last week laid bare a splintered party that continues to have deep misgivings about their nominee. “Ted, stay home”, Trump said, dismissing any interest in an endorsement the Texas senator refuses to provide.

Trump boasted of his TV ratings, his primary victories and other achievements, including winning over his wife, Melania, in a stream-of-consciousness delivery with Pence, standing quietly nearby.

“I don’t do anything unless I win”, Trump insisted. “Drawing a blank. Congrats to a good man and a good friend”.

At this week’s Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, she and her vice presidential pick, Sen. One of the reasons President Obama pursued healthcare reform when many of his advisors opposed doing so was because he knew that the midterm elections in 2010 would be highly favorable to the party out of power.

Tim Kaine, whom Trump derided as a “weird little dude” and a political “hack”. “I have traditionally been a supporter of the Hyde Amendment, but I’ll check it out”. The couple has three children, Nat, 26, Woody, 24, and Annella, 21. Some were dismayed by her choice of Sen.

Sanders was closing the night, speaking just after Massachusetts. Sen.

“I personally know I have work to do on this front”.

The Republican nominee has repeatedly praised Putin; a number of his investors in his real estate projects are Russian; his campaign manager, Paul Manafort, has worked for pro-Russian oligarchs in Ukraine; and Trump has taken foreign policy positions on North Atlantic Treaty Organisation that align with Russian geopolitical interests.
