Bernie Sanders laying off hundreds of campaign staffers
Bernie Sanders touted his support for striking telecom workers at a star-studded rally in New York City’s Washington Square Park on Wednesday night, less than a week out from New York state’s primary vote. We have had a very large staff which was created to deal with 50 states in this country and 40 of the states are now behind us.

“Our job is not just to revitalize the democratic party, not only to open the doors to young people and working people”, Sanders said.
A day after losing four out of five Northeastern primaries, spokesman Michael Briggs said the Sanders campaign was making the cuts as it shifts its focus to the California primary on June 7.
Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders addresses to the crowd during a campaign rally at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena, April 26, 2016 in Huntington, West Virginia. All over this country we have Republican governors trying to make it harder for people to vote.
The layoffs, first reported by Politico, were being cast by the Vermont senator’s campaign as part of an effort to pare back now that most of the primaries and caucuses are over. Former President Bill Clinton also won both times when he ran for president in 1992 and 1996. “Reassess does not mean that he’s not going to be part of this race”, Devine said. “We can’t allow the corporate media, Wall Street PACs, and the Democratic Party establishment to derail this movement before the real presidential election even begins”.
Clinton has the chance of a clean sweep or at least multiple victories Tuesday that would probably foreclose Sanders’ already narrow path to the nomination.
Earlier in the week, Sanders’ campaign manager stressed that he would arrive at July’s Democratic convention in Philadelphia with enough sway in the form of pledged delegates to force debate on the issues dear to him.

“And with your help, super delegates may well reach the conclusion that Bernie Sanders will be the strongest candidate against Donald Trump or any other Republican”, Sanders says.
