Bernie Sanders May Not Mind Being Hillary Clinton’s VP

But a rift between supporters of Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders persisted throughout the event. Sanders’ fundraising has dropped off and he has shed hundreds of staffers.

ME has five superdelegates: three are now pledged to Hillary Clinton, one to Sanders and one is undecided.

Just 155 delegates short, Clinton is on a glide path to the number needed to win on June 7 when polls close in New Jersey at 8 p.m. EDT, even if she narrowly loses all the contests between now and then. Sanders is trailing Clinton by almost 300 pledged delegates.

Democratic power brokers feel President Barack Obama should remain on the sidelines as the primary season plods toward the party’s nominating convention this summer.

At least one of its superdelegates, Luisette Colon, earlier this year changed her support from Clinton to uncommitted, citing her desire to learn more about the candidates’ positions on aiding the USA territory.

Supporters of Sanders are frustrated that superdelegates have given a boost to Clinton’s candidacy, and Maine Democratic Chairman Phil Bartlett supports a review of the outsized role superdelegates play in the nomination process. Of the 714 superdelegates, 523 have endorsed Clinton and only 23 have endorsed Sanders. Remember those dreaded superdelegates, the party leaders and elected officials that Sanders¿ supporters have been complaining about for months? He is arguing for a say in the party platform at the convention, but that is far from resolved.

He is likely to score another victory this Tuesday in the West Virginia primary, where he has a lead in recent polling. The poll released by CNN/ORC on May 1 shows Sanders with his largest lead of 16 points over Trump, 56 percent to 40 percent.

“I am asking people to come join this campaign, and I’ve had a lot of outreach on Republicans in the last days who say that they are interested in talking about that”, she said.

“It must be a speech written in Shakespearean prose”, Sanders said, scoffing.

Almost all of Delaware’s 16 delegates to the national GOP convention in Cleveland are committed to supporting Donald Trump even if the convention’s nominee-picking process goes past a first ballot, Trump campaign chairman Rob Arlett said last month. “Some of the comments Secretary Clinton made earlier in the year concerned people, rightfully so”, said Goodwin.

“We’re not the ones who started this back-and-forth”, Devine said. “Having said that, it’s really important that the views of the millions of people who have supported him be expressed”.

Speaking on “The Cats Roundtable” Sunday radio show on AM 970 NY hosted by John Catsimatidis, Rendell said “I think it’s going to be a great convention, but of course the key to it is the Sanders people”.
