Bernie Sanders picked as a keynote speaker at Democratic convention

The theme for night two is “A Lifetime of Fighting for Children and Families” and will see former President Bill Clinton starting things off, followed by the Mothers of the Movement, which is a group that is comprised primarily of mothers who have lost children due to gun and/or police violence.

So, who is speaking at the Democratic National Convention?

The state party says the three superdelegates also applaud Clinton’s opponent in the primary, Sen.

Sanders, the Independent senator from Vermont and the first Jewish candidate to win major party nominating contests, will speak the first night, July 25, along with Michelle Obama, the first lady. Several of them, including the mothers of Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin and Eric Garner, have campaigned with Hillary Clinton previously. Missing from the partial list: anyone on the short list for vice president.

Michelle Obama and Sanders will be accompanied onstage by Astrid Silva, a well-known DREAMer from the state of Nevada that President Obama mentioned in his speech last November 20, 2014, to announce immigration measures aimed at halting the deportation of 5 million undocumented immigrants.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton speaks at a rally at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Thursday, July 14, 2016. “Also, watch for Donald Trump to have an attention-grabbing strategy during the Democratic convention”.

Tuesday will feature the roll call vote and how Hillary has spent her entire career working to make a difference for children, families, and our country.

Additional speakers will be announced at a later time.

According to the release, the convention will feature “narrative storytelling utilizing innovative technology” and through that “Clinton’s vision that we are stronger together will come into strong focus for the American people”.

On Wednesday speakers will take an in-depth look at just how high the stakes are in this election and how Hillary Clinton has the experience and steadiness to bring people together to tackle the big challenges and get real results.
