Notably, pledged delegates are elected or chosen at the state or local level, with the understanding that they will support a particular candidate at the convention.

IN will not change that basic dynamic. Because Indiana Democrats allocate delegates proportionally, the close race between the two candidates ensures that Sanders will capture only a small net delegate gain, leaving him still well behind Clinton in the race for support.

It would also be one of the rarest occasion that the candidates would be from the same city and having their headquarters in NY.

Demographically, the 77% white state looks winnable for Sanders. He also won big in New Hampshire, Wisconsin and MI, where independents are free to participate. But many in the Democratic party argue that the game for Sanders would soon be over. “We gotta protect our country”, he told his supporters.

Trump now has at least 1,047 delegates. Sanders strategists have made it clear they’re going all in on the Golden State, and even pulled television advertising money out of in to focus on the state.
