Bernie Sanders Says ‘Of Course’ Hillary Clinton Is Qualified to Be President
Bernie Sanders, looking to upset front-runner Hillary Clinton, will rally in Brooklyn Friday – his first of what is expected to be a slew of campaign stops in the state after winning the Wisconsin primary.

The conflict between the two flared this week ahead of the April 19 NY primary. He has made himself available to the press numerous times over the past 48 hours and his evolution on his statement has been stark.
The Vermont senator was asked whether he really believes Clinton is not qualified for the presidency – a possibility he raised this week after Clinton and her team questioned whether Sanders was prepared for the White House – Sanders essentially suggested his attacks stemmed from Clinton’s comments. In an interview Thursday on “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” Sanders noted that Clinton “has years of experience”.
Sanders has insisted that Clinton instigated the ongoing fight, and that he was only defending himself when he cited her 2002 Iraq war vote and willingness to accept super PAC support as evidence she isn’t “qualified” to be president.
But US Senator Claire McCaskill, aMissouri Democrat and Clinton ally who has been critical of Sanders, added another layer to the fallout over Sanders’ critique.
JUDY WOODRUFF: Both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders campaigned in NY state today, and Sanders announced he will visit the Vatican next week to speak at a conference on social issues. “New York in general was one of the most thoroughly organized in the country from what I recall, even pretty early on”.
“It’s so silly, it doesn’t deserve a question”. She’s the most qualified person to run for president since I’ve been voting.
“This is not the type of politics that I wanna get in”, he told journalists in Philadelphia.
Hillary Clinton is spending her day upstate in Buffalo and Rochester.
“Do you believe Secretary Clinton is unqualified to be president”, he was asked. In an interview with Politico, she said she tries to explain things in a more “open and truthful way than my opponent”. “She is extremely intelligent”.
Additional analysis conducted using separate data shows that Democrats are more likely than Republicans – especially Trump supporters – to say they would vote for the “other” candidate in their party, should their preferred candidate lose the nomination, according to the survey.

“Bernie has moved on”. Conversely, Clinton can effectively put the nomination out of Sanders’ reach with a big victory in the state that elected her to the U.S. Senate.
