Bernie Sanders seeks to unite Democratic Party in speech
The Chairwoman of the Democratic party Debbie Wasserman Schultz yesterday said she would resign at the conclusion of the convention, just hours before it was to start. She did what numerous cable pundits did throughout Thursday, talk about what Hillary Clinton did or didn’t have to say in her speech.

Alexander said the protest happened organically and that protesters were angry that Wasserman Schultz was still at the convention. “There’s been a natural donor base for someone willing to take on a person with a national profile who is seen as a failed leader”.
This week, Canova is Canova said he raised $125,000 on Monday and Tuesday of this week.
Wasserman Schultz is scheduled to gavel the convention to its opening Monday, and at least one Wisconsin delegate thinks Brazile should be at the podium in her place.
At the Republican convention last week, there was a procedural move that swapped the order of the states so that Donald Trump received the requisite delegates from his home state of NY.
The head of Michigan’s Democratic Party is asking his delegates to not boo speakers at tonight’s Democratic National Convention. Her resignation was tendered, the damage against the Sanders campaign done, and the presidential nomination in the books for Team Hillary. “That’s what this campaign has been about”, Sanders said.
In the wake of the DNC email leak, Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s primary opponent Tim Canova has been on the receiving end of huge campaign donations from concerned progressives who want Wasserman Schultz out of Congress. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

One caller asks about why the DNC is allowing Cornel West to sit on the platform committee and suggests the party is kowtowing to the Sanders camp. “We got 3.7 million more votes, we won this election, we will be the nominee of the party”. That plan may have been a bid to save face for Wasserman Schultz but in truth it was an act of Trumpian arrogance – at a moment when she and the rest of the party leadership can least afford it. Call it viral fundraising.
