The two-hour debate at the Gaillard Center in Charleston, S.C., will air on NBC and stream on YouTube starting at 9 p.m. EST. Sanders’ announcement that he backs the bill comes just before he is set to meet Clinton and Martin O’Malley Sunday night in the last Democratic debate before the Iowa caucus. “He’s a lot more obsessed with me than I am with him”, she said laughing.
“I think she could guide her a bit” if she needed it, he said.
“We’ve kind of known all along that this was going to happen”, says Doug Deaett from Hanover, who has been volunteering with the Sanders Campaign. “I’d be digging my fingernails into my palm to keep myself awake”, she admits.
This will be the first debate since President Barack Obama announced his executive actions on guns, a new opening for Clinton to slam Sanders again on the issue. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign announced he would support a bill to strip legal immunity from gun manufactures, a status they gained from a 2005 bill for which Sanders voted.
Clinton spoke about her endorsements from Planned Parenthood and the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.
“If I’m so fortunate to be the Democratic nominee, obviously I’ll run against whoever they nominate”, she says in the clip. Sanders has ridden an unexpected wave of enthusiasm to consistently edge out Clinton in New Hampshire, and is in a virtual tie with the former secretary of state in Iowa. “If we’re trying to attract the Hispanic vote, where are they?” he said, looking around the room at scores of fellow white voters.
“For me, this is the most important election of my lifetime”, the younger Clinton began.
On February 27, the southern state will be the fourth face-off between Democrats such as Sanders and Clinton – and the first one with a large percentage of African-American voters. He said, “We see the jobs grow but the incomes don’t”. Sanders is doing just as well as Clinton in many head-to-head polls against Trump. He later added that the plan will be release “certainly before Iowa”.
During a 20-minute speech, Bill Clinton did not directly mention Sanders, but he asked attendees to sign cards promising to caucus for his wife and to volunteer for her campaign.

That’s down from a 25 point advantage as recently as two months ago, suggesting the race is tightening and that Sanders may be a serious concern for the Clinton camp.
