Bernie Sanders to Officially Endorse Hillary Clinton
For Sanders, a campaign that began as a liberal crusade will probably end that way, with the Vermont senator still fighting for the issues that made up his political revolution even as his clout fades. Elizabeth Warren of MA stepped in to unify the party behind Clinton. According to him, Clinton’s policies need to sway further left before the social Democrat, known for his populist policies, will grant her an endorsement. Chris Hayes asked Sanders, to which he replied, “That’s correct”.

Voters are more satisfied with Hillary Clinton at this point in the campaign than they were with her husband Bill Clinton as when he ran for president in 1992. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, her rival for the Democratic nomination, sources said it was likely.
They added that it was not clear yet when Sanders would speak or whether the convention would include a full roll-call vote on Clinton and Sanders as candidates for the party’s nomination. Sanders has been pushing for changes to the party platform that would specify the need for a $15 an hour federal minimum wage, opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership and more.
One important plank Sanders would like added is opposition to having any congressional vote on the Trans-Pacific Partnership global trade agreement.
“My job is to do is to do everything I can to address the major crises facing this country in terms of income and wealth inequality, and I am going to use all the leverage that I have to try to make those changes”. After the Orlando meeting, the document will be voted on at the convention in Philadelphia this month. He repeated his pledge to help defeat Donald Trump again Thursday in an interview with Bloomberg View’s Al Hunt.
Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders shake hands before an April Democratic presidential debate in NY. But he says the party ultimately will unite.
“Hillary Clinton will return to New Hampshire on Tuesday, July 12, to discuss her commitment to building an America that is stronger together and an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top”, said Julie McClain, New Hampshire communications director for the Clinton campaign.
Michael Lighty, policy director of the Sanders-aligned National Nurses United union, said everything rides on the Orlando meeting as the Sanders and Clinton campaigns prepare for an endorsement. On Wednesday Clinton endorsed a version of Sanders’ free college proposal that would provide free tuition at state universities for families who make under $125,000.
For many Democrats, the endorsement is overdue.
Sanders is making a surprising decision considering he has held out endorsing Clinton in the past.
After those different openings, each ad carries the same narration and footage of Clinton speaking to world leaders such as Vladimir Putin as secretary of state.
Middlebury College political science professor Matt Dickinson says Sanders is sticking to his belief that the Democratic Party needs to be transformed on some basic economic issues.
