The death was from natural causes. Berra quit school after the eighth grade, but his lack of formal education did not take away from his quick witty comments, known as Yogiisms.

Berra was more than astounding player on the field, he was an astounding person off of it, and his legacy will never be forgotten.
Yogi certainly had a great career, as the Toronto Star pointed out.
Berra was one of the key elements to the New York Yankees’ dynasty that won 10 World Series championships – which remains the most in sport’s history. During his tenure, Berra played in 14 World Series.

When she asked why he felt the need to sign his full name, he said he wanted to make sure she didn’t think it came from some other guy named Yogi. And it is the truth.
