The division has immediately delivered a new bespoke project specifically aimed towards the Middle East market, the 650S Spider “Al Sahara 79” – a modified 650S Spider that will only become available to clients in the region and coming as a specific touch with a “uniquely formulated paint scheme” dubbed by McLaren as “pearlescent white gold”. From afar, the auto shimmers like the gold sands of the desert.
McLaren Special Operations known as MSO is the arm of sports auto maker McLaren that builds bespoke rides for the wealthy who can afford customization right from the factory.
The side intakes, front splitter, rear diffuser, and MSO badges on the auto are made from carbon fiber.
McLaren Automotive has unveiled the gold-infused Al Sahara 79 which is set to appear in the Dubai global Motor Show. The composite material can also be found on the MSO-branded side blades, which provide a more sculpted appearance to an already athletic-looking supercar. The switchgear and heating vents have been finished in a dark gold.
Aside from this, the Al Sahara 79 features a white and deep gold color scheme in the car’s interior and contrast stitching to convey utmost royalty. McLaren didn’t disappoint either, endowing the 650S with a 3.0-liter twin turbocharged V8 capable of an impressive 641 bhp and 500 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle zooms past the three digit mark in less than3 seconds thanks to the 7-speed dual clutch transmission going all the way to an impressive 329 km/h. Fuel economy is 24.2 mpg and Carbon dioxide emission is at 275 g/km.

Buyers will get this in exchange for 1,456,308 Emirati Dirham or $396,400 at current exchange rates. Almost 25 percent of all McLarens purchased in the Middle East are customized in a few way, meaning the region “boasts one of the highest levels of MSO customisation [sic] globally”.
